Ethnographic Museum

The Ethnographic Museum of the city of Chefchaouen is located in the old castle by the Square. This archaeological building is date back to 1471, built by Prince Moulay Ali bin Rashid the founder of the emirate Rashidiya of Chefchaouen.
The museum has been created in 1985, the museum occupy a very important location within the walls of the Kasbah and the historic building which the museum was restored.
The museum has two halls surrounding the main lobby and enlarged with side spaces. The collection of the museum represent the culture of the city and its surroundings, reflect five centuries of civilization and culture between local tribal groups mountains, elements of Andalusian and Judaism, which settled in the city since its creation in the last quarter of the fifteenth century.
It consists of six spaces, including:
Space No. 3 models of the Arts Wood, famous by the city of Chefchaouen
Space 4: traditional weapons, models of embroideries, music instruments…
Space 6: This includes an exhibition hall for the traditional fashion through a series of pictures represents models of traditional dress.
